The Christmas decorations have been taken down and stored away. The last presents have been opened. We’ve welcomed in the new year with open arms and have even started working on a few resolutions. Every year it seems as if Christmas flies by quicker than the year before… and yet there’s always something nice about getting back into old routines and schedules and starting out a new year.
I made a decision this year to spend a lot less time in front of my computer and a lot more time in front of my family. Celebrating and experiencing all that Christmas brings with a 2 year old was something I hope I’ll never forget. I now understand what my parents were talking about when they used to tell me that one day, when I had a family of my own, seeing Christmas through my children’s eyes would mean so much more than any material presents I could ever receive.
2010 is here now, our last visitors have headed back to their homes and it’s time to reconnect with the computer. Of course that’s an easy thing to do as I’ve been looking forward to working on my last 2 sessions of 2009. I met up with this family the weekend before Christmas and had such a great time working with all of them… from this incredibly cute 5 month old, to his adorable cousins, and of course all of their sweet parents and grandparents.
Jamie and his parents live out of state so I was honored that they made time for a session with me while visiting family for Christmas. This little one brought out some adorable expressions and was such a trooper for being in a new place and having a large camera and lens following him around.
Lana, it was wonderful to see you again after so many years and to have the opportunity to meet and photograph your beautiful family. Thank you so much for choosing me to capture these moments for all of you! Hope you’ll enjoy some of my favorites so far!
