I can hardly believe we’re already halfway through the month of January. In all honesty, I’m not sure where last Fall or, especially, the Christmas holidays went. Time just seems to keep moving faster and the days seem to fly by so much quicker with each passing year.
As I enter my 5th year with Karen Baker Photography, I am once again thankful beyond words for all that God has blessed me with through this business. I still can’t believe I’ve had so many incredible opportunities and been allowed to learn and grow so much in the process. I still get excited before a session and when, especially during those challenging moments, I am able to capture a shot that a family can treasure for years to come. I love filling my walls with beautiful portraits of the ones I love, so naturally it brings me great joy to be able to do this for others, as well. Our children are such amazing gifts from God… what a priviledge it is to be able to document such sweet early seasons in their lives and with their families. It is one that I never take for granted.
With all of that being said, God has been tugging my heart in some different directions over the past several months. I certainly don’t feel Him leading me away from photography or my business, but moreso leading my focus onto some other projects and down a couple of new paths. I am beyond excited to so clearly see Him working in my life and in my family, and, as always, I can’t wait to see what the road ahead brings.
So as I plan for the coming year, and as I’ve begun booking sessions through the Spring, I know that my availability will be limited compared to years past. I will continue to take on as many sessions as I think I can handle during this particular season, but cutting back a bit so that I can focus on other projects, as well.
Thank you, again, to all who continue to follow my little journey with this business and, especially, to all who have trusted me with their family’s memories along the way. I look forward to seeing many of the same families again this year, watching your children continue to grow, and as always, being blessed by a few new families along the way.
If you are interested in booking a session for 2013, please let me know so that we can begin working on a date (if you are interested in booking something this Spring), or I can add you to my list to contact once I start booking for the Fall.
And… what would a post be without pictures?!? Many MANY thanks to the talented and super-awesome-to-work-with, Carrie Tabb. There aren’t too many better gifts you can give a photographer than a picture of him/her with his/her own family! Thank you, Carrie, for gifting our family with your talents yet again!
