I never “publicly” announced it, but earlier this year I made the decision to focus my work on the younger bunch… maternity portraits, newborns, babies, toddlers & small families. Going into my third year of business, I decided it was important for me to focus my time on a smaller group of subjects in order to really grow and hone my skills in those areas. Although I have really enjoyed working with subjects such as high school seniors in the past, the younger age is where my work is most often concentrated and it just made sense that, for now at least, that would be my focus.
Before making that decision, however, I accepted this session and am so thankful I did! Wilson is a high school senior and his mom wanted some special pictures done to commemorate this time in his life. Not only is Wilson a high school senior, though, he’s also been playing violin since the age of 3! We of course had to incorporate the violin in a few shots.
I had the best time doing these… it was a beautiful evening and so much fun doing something a little outside my regular norm these days. Wilson was so kind to humor both me and his mom, as well, as I realize spending an hour having your picture made is not really an 18 year old guy’s idea of fun!
Sally and Wilson, thanks so much for the opportunity… all the best, Wilson, as you embark on so many incredible adventures in Athens next year!!
